CONTAINER SHIPS (LADEN/BALLAST) DIRECTLY COMING FROM PORTS OF “NORTH-WEST EUROPE (AND TANGIER PORT) STARTING FROM ALGECIRAS AND DIRECTLY HEADING TO PORT KLANG AND ITS EASTERN PORTS OF SOUTH EAST ASIA AT THE “FAR EAST”. SCA Circ.No.8/2023 and its updates. Valid until 30 June 2026).

Note: Reduction rates shall be calculated only from the applicable transit tolls according to the table of transit dues rates plus additional dues for the extra tiers of containers on deck.
Article one:
Container ships (laden/ballast) directly coming from ports of North-West Europe (and Tangier port) starting from Algeciras port and directly heading to (Port Klang) and its Eastern ports at “South-East Asia and the “Far East” are exempted from the 15% increase of the normal transit Canal dues stipulated in Para (a) article one of the circular No. 7/2023.
Article two:
Conditions of applying the Circular:
1) Any operating company wishing to benefit from this circular must submit a request through its shipping agency before ship’s sailing from the port of origin.
The request must state: vessel’s particulars, origin port & sailing date, destination port, ETA to Suez Canal, vessel’s condition (laden\ballast) and the type & quantity of cargo,

2) The vessel must not call at any intermediate ports during its voyage between “Origin port” and “Destination port” for commercial purposes. In case the vessel called any intermediate ports for non-commercial purposes a certificate issued by the port authority or other competent authorities will be required stating the reason for calling.
3) Required documents to legalize the granted exemption, which must be submitted (as one package) within one year starting from the next day of the vessel’s transit:
a) “Origin port” certificate from the last port that the vessel sailed from; stating the departure date, the quantity of cargo in metric tons, and type of cargo upon departure and the reason for calling the port, and the vessel’s status upon departure which must be duly signed & stamped by the port authority or other competent authorities.
b)“Destination port” certificate from the first port of arrival; stating the arrival date, the quantity of cargo in metric tons and the type of cargo upon arrival and the reason for calling the port, and the vessel’s status upon arrival which must be duly signed and stamped by the port authority or other competent authorities.
c) “Principals Claim” requesting to refund the rebate amount stating the circular number, vessel’s particulars, port of origin and sailing date, destination port and arrival date, Suez Canal transit date and a clear declaration that the vessel had not called at any intermediate ports for commercial purposes.
4) Upon vessel’s transit, the shipping agency must submit a “Pledge” that they will pay the granted exemption amount in case of calling at any intermediate ports for commercial purposes or failing to submit the required documents during the pre-set period or failing to abide to any of the pre-mentioned circular’s conditions.

Laden or ballast container ships coming from port of Norfolk and its northern ports heading to Port Klang and its eastern ports shall be granted a reduction of 40 % of the Suez Canal normal tolls:

Laden or ballast container ships coming from ports south of port of Norfolk and heading to:
a) Port Klang and its eastern ports shall be granted reduction of 60% of the Suez Canal normal tolls.
b) Port of Colombo and its eastern ports up to port of Klang shall be granted rebate 50% on the Suez Canal normal tolls.

VEHICLE CARRIERS LADEN /BALLAST OPERATING DIRECTLY BETWEEN PORTS AT THE EAST COAST OF THE AMERICAS AND THE US GULF AND PORTS AT THE FAR EAST AND SOUTH EAST OF ASIA (STARING FROM PORT KLANG AND ITS EASTERN PORTS ARE GRANTED THE FOLLOWING REBATE PERCENTAGES: (SCA Circ. No. 10/2023 and its updates. Valid until 30 June 2026.
For voyages between ports “starting from Norfolk port and its Northern ports” and “Port Klang & its Eastern ports” is granted a rebate of 40% from Suez Canal normal transit dues.
2) For voyages between ports “South to Norfolk port” and “Port Klang & its Eastern
Ports” is granted a rebate of 55% from Suez Canal normal transit dues.
